Large armorial charger

A large blue and white charger finely decorated with the arm of van der Does and Stein van Gollonesse. This charger would have been from a service extensively described in Jochem Kroes, Chinese Armorial Porcelain for the Dutch Market, Zwolle, 2007, p 190. Kroes writes that the service would have been commissioned to celebrate the wedding of Gerard van der Does and Anthonia Dorothea van Stein van Gollonesse in 1755.

Condition: large body crack (ca 15cm) within the border from 4-6 o'clock, rim fritting. No restoration.
