A blue and white saucer dish decorated with figures "à la mode Fontage" representing the sense of smell. The design is taken from a French engraving (circa 1690) possibly by the Bonnard Brothers.

Condition: with glaze damage to the left hand side of the central scene due to the unsuccessful attempt at scratching away some firing imperfections to the glaze. Also a rim frit at 5 o'clock.

Kangxi period (1662-1722).
